2011 CHAPTER MEETINGS AND SUMMER CONFERENCE
CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
Our year begins with the first chapter meeting on February 17th at the new Gwinnett School of Math, Science and Technology. With dates now set for our Summer Conference and tentative dates for our remaining chapter meetings, it’s time to open our Call for Presentations. The lineup in 2010 was outstanding and we look for great presentations in 2011!
First, these are the dates you can place on your calendars:
» April 21, 2011 Chapter Meeting (location approval pending)
» June 27-29, 2011 Summer Conference at Callaway Gardens
» August 18, 2011 Chapter Meeting (location to be determined)
» October 20, 2011 Chapter Meeting (location approval pending)
Our goal is to provide interesting, useful and innovative presentations that will help all of us navigate these continuing and difficult economic times. Last year’s goal to provide practical, data-driven methods our industry can use to accomplish our objectives with less funding remains applicable today.
We encourage you to submit your ideas for presentations no later than March 31, 2011.
Each submittal should indicate your preference for a Chapter Meeting presentation (30 minutes each), Summer Conference session (60 minutes each – if you have a preference, indicate day one or day two of the conference) or both. Also, note if your presentation can be made available in time for the April 21st Chapter Meeting.
Please include the following information with your submission:
» Title
» Presentation Summary (please limit to one paragraph)
» Possible Speakers and summary of qualifications
All presentations should focus on educating school facility representatives and other attendees on new technologies, updated processes and procedures, innovative strategies, etc. that support our stated goal. We particularly encourage joint participation with school facility representatives where real-life strategies have been implemented. We encourage school facility representatives with interesting challenges and stories to share them with their peers through presentations, as well.
Sessions should not have a commercial or sales-oriented focus.
Please send your submittal electronically by March 31, 2011 to Ted Gilbert at gilbertt@clarke.k12.ga.us.
